Finca Bellavista has many kilometers of improved hiking trails that access different portions of the property. This is a great way to get acquainted with the rainforest, and explore hidden gems like waterfalls, gardens, viewpoints and other natural features.

Guided Night Hikes

Go on a guided night hike with a local guide to get a closer look at reptiles, amphibians, insects and other nocturnal creatures. This is a favorite guest activity.

Zipline Tour

Waterfall & River Swimming

With two rugged rivers running through Finca Bellavista, opportunities abound for exploring natural pools and waterfalls. For those with a keen eye, fossils can be found in Rio Bellavista after a storm, and during dry season, you can snorkel and see river shrimp, fish, gobies, frogs and other critters.

A treehouse is the perfect perch for birdwatchers… Finca Bellavista is located in the middle of the AMISTOSA wildlife corridor, and a broad mix of birds frequent the finca. Daily sightings including hummingbird, aracari, tanager, trogon mot-mot, toucan, hawk and egret. Bring your own binoculars!

E-Bike Tours

Mountain biking…. with a boost. This tour takes visitors up to the nearby indigenous village of Los Angeles. With an epic backdrop of the Fila Cruces, and a view out to the Golfo Dulce, this tour is an unforgettable experience. Inquire at check-in for tour availability.

Exploring the colorful, edible gardens of Finca Bellavista has become a favorite activity for guests. Guests are welcome to explore the gardens at their leisure at any time during their stay, but for those who want to learn more, the gardeners are open to longer tours. For those wanting to explore, the surrounding region provides great opportunities for day trips and authentic experiences.  As there is no cell service or phone line at Finca Bellavista, we recommend contacting tour providers via the links below prior to your stay if you are interested in organizing an off-site excursion.

PLAYA BLANCA & FINCA KOBO CHOCOLATE FARM

Who doesn’t love chocolate? Finca Kobo provides a very informative and delicious tour near the village of La Palma. Tours start at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., and reservations are recommended. Nearby is Playa Blanca, a serene crushed coral beach on the Golfo Dulce, surrounded by verdant mountains. Playa Blanca is a lovely spot. Kayak rentals are also available in this area.

GOLFO DULCE EXCURSIONS

Changing Tide Tours provides an intimate view of the Golfo Dulce, and can arrange boat tours from Puerto Jimenez, Golfito, or Playa Blanca. Dolphin and whale watching trips, snorkeling, and other adventures are on offer year-round with reservations.
