The cashew nut is attached to a colorful fruit that is harvested from trees. In Costa Rica,  cashew season isn’t just about enjoying the crunchy delicious nut. It’s about enjoying the pulpy, unusual flavor of the cashew fruit too. The cashew fruit is often times made in to refreshing drinks, because the stringy flesh is rather challenging to chew. A note of caution: if you bite in to a raw, uncooked cashew nut, there is a toxin that will make your face go numb!
