Creating a future for the Jaguar

Only those intimately familiar with the region surrounding Finca Bellavista might understand the significance of the landscape, and the AMISTOSA wildlife corridor. AMISTOSA connects the Osa Peninsula to the Talamanca Mountains, allowing terrestrial migration of numerous endangered species. Finca Bellavista is geographically located in the center of this corridor, and provides researchers an ideal location to collect data and further efforts to conserve mammals roaming the region.

Jan Schipper and José F. González-Maya are both conservation biologists that organize and oversee research efforts in the AMISTOSA corridor. Wildlife Corridors: Creating a Future for the Jaguar (pages 22-30) helps provide our network of visitors and friends a better understanding of jaguar conservation work in Costa Rica, and the role of Finca Bellavista within these efforts. There are also great photos from our camera traps to browse as well!
