The majority of tourists to Costa Rica come between mid-December and mid-April every year. This timeframe is known as the ‘high season’, and is the driest and busiest time of the year. The remainder of the year, called the ‘green season’, can be rainier but is a lovely time of year to plan a visit Costa Rica’s Southern Zone, and Finca Bellavista. The crowds thin out, prices drop, and in general, the slower pace of traveling allows visitors to truly experience the abundance of life in the rainforest. Afternoon rain showers at Finca Bellavista often times boast a colorful finale in the form of a rainbow. This one was captured in November 2015.
