For those with interest in visiting Corcovado National Park and the Osa Peninsula, a regional flight on Nature Air or Sansa Airlines in to Puerto Jimenez provides a jumping off point. Driving to Puerto Jimenez entails a turn off the InterAmericana Highway in Chacarita, which is 5 miles north of the Finca Bellavista turn.
Puerto Jimenez was a gold mining hub at one point in time, and still retains a bit of a rough and tumble vibe. It is, however, the services hub for the Osa Peninsula, and the beaches in town and closely are great to hang out at. Matapalo is a popular surf break that is only 8 kilometers away.
